Empowering the future of justice

Every year on 15 July, the global community marks the World Youth Skills day. The day’s purpose is to highlight the importance of passing on to young people the various skills that they might need to meet the challenges of the future. The European Judicial Training Network is playing its part in this important mission. Through its initial training activities – the AIAKOS Programme and the THEMIS Competition – EJTN is dedicated to fostering a new generation of skilled and knowledgeable justice professionals.

The 2024 THEMIS Competition begins soon

A total of 36 teams from 12 EU Member States, three Western Balkan countries (Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Serbia), and Moldova will compete and try to win the 2024 THEMIS Competition. The number of participating teams has increased compared to 2023, when 31 teams took part in the event.

Who are we ?

We are a membership-based association. Our members are judicial training institutions from all EU members states and the Academy of European Law.

Our vision is to foster mutual trust between judiciary professionals from all EU member states and to contribute creating a common legal and judicial European culture. We achieve this vision by providing networking opportunities for our members, observers, and partners, and by offering tailored training to all 400.000 judges, prosecutors, court staff, and judicial trainers in the EU.

EJTN follows a bottom-up approach: Our members learn with each other and from each other.

We design and implement all EJTN training activities together through our four working groups: Exchange Programme, Programmes, Judicial Training Methods, and Linguistics.
