Closing Conference of the project: CJEU Hearings’ Recording as a Judicial Training

Meeting

The European Commission and the Court of Justice of the EU will organise an online conference on 7 March 2024, between 16:00 and 18:00 (CET). This conference will serve the purposes of (1) presenting the six training videos on the CJEU, (2) explaining where to find them on the EU platform and (3) encouraging the use of the videos as training tools by training providers and trainers as well as their dissemination as the self-learning tool for justice professionals.

Judicial institutions and Justice professionals are invited to register their representatives at the conference platform at https://cjeutrainingvideos.eu/registration. The registration process will be open until 9 February 2024.

The registered participants will receive a confirmation of registration and practical information on how to join the event.

With this project, the European Commission and the Court of Justice of the EU aim to increase the awareness and knowledge of justice professionals, as well as to develop their skills, necessary to facilitate a dialogue between national courts and the CJEU, to ensure a proper representation at the CJEU by national lawyers and to improve the implementation of EU law, by showcasing concrete examples of hearings and best practices.

The use of recordings of CJEU hearings provides a great potential for initial and in-service training of justice professionals, both at national and European level. The outcomes of the project will be presented during the conference.

The conference will be held bilingually (English and French), primarily addressing training providers, trainers for lawyers, judges, prosecutors from EU Member States, Candidate Countries, and potential Candidate Countries.

The organisers count on numerous participations by training providers and trainers, for whom the videos will be relevant for their daily activities and encourage them to register numerously.
