What is on offer?
In close cooperation with its member institutions, the judicial training institutions in EU Member States, EJTN offers tailor-made exchange formats designed to deepen professional skills, enhance judicial cooperation and foster a common European judicial culture.
Below you can find a brief overview of the activities that will be opened for applications as of 1 September. On the EJTN website, you can access more detailed descriptions.
General Exchanges
Participants spend one week in a host institution abroad, typically a Court or Prosecution office. During their stay, they have the opportunity to observe judicial proceedings, share best practices and gain insights into the legal and procedural systems in fellow EU Member States.
Specialised Exchanges
Targeting judges, prosecutors and court/prosecution staff in specific fields (e.g., family law, labour law, organised crime, digitalisation of justice, domestic violence, or data protection), these 3-day exchanges offer thematic, practice-oriented experiences. EJTN ensures that emerging areas of law are reflected in the offer.
Judicial Leaders Exchanges
Court presidents, chief prosecutors and court staff managers develop essential leadership and management skills tailored to the judiciary.
Trainers Exchanges
Judicial trainers will have the opportunity to explore training methodologies, pedagogical tools and best practices with their peers. They will also learn how training initiatives are implemented in other EU Member States.

Project-Based Exchanges, now smarter and stronger
Starting in 2026, EJTN is rolling out a revamped format for project-based exchanges, bringing together bilateral exchanges, regional exchanges and judiciary learning grants into one streamlined activity. Participants can now apply individually or as a group (2 to 5 people) for tailor-made exchanges on shared themes to dive into meaningful, practice-based learning. One format. More impact. Better cooperation.

If you are seeking deeper immersion, EJTN offers long-term placements within the Court of Justice of the European Union, the European Public Prosecutor’s Office (EPPO), the European Court of Human Rights, or Eurojust. These multi-month experiences provide a rare opportunity to step into the role of a temporary staff member and gain first-hand insight into the inner workings and decision-making processes of key EU bodies.
