2025 EJTN Annual Report now available – a landmark year of celebration and strategic reflection

Meeting

The year 2025 marked a special milestone for the European Judicial Training Network as we celebrated 25 years of contributing to a strong Europe of Justice.

The highlights and achievements of this memorable year are now available in the 2025 EJTN Annual Report, which highlights the key milestones, statistics and other elements that contributed to EJTN’s work in 2025, thus providing a comprehensive overview of the 2025 training activities and initiatives.

This report is presented in a hybrid format for the second time, available as a dedicated website, a downloadable summary pdf and a limited number of printed copies distributed at key events.

“For a quarter of a century, EJTN has stood at the heart of judicial training and cooperation in Europe, supporting judges, prosecutors and court staff in carrying out their responsibilities independently, impartially and in full respect of the Rule of Law. Over 25 years, together with our members, associate members, observers and partners, EJTN has evolved to meet the changing training needs and challenges of European justice systems,” writes the EJTN Secretary General, Judge Ingrid Derveaux, as she shares her reflections on 2025 in the report’s foreword.

Throughout 2025, EJTN continued to strengthen its commitment to the digital transformation of justice through various initiatives. At the heart of this effort is the EJTN Digital Ambassadors Programme, now in its second year, which has already equipped 132 Digital Ambassadors from 21 EU Member States with practical skills in digital tools, innovative methodologies and peer learning. By nurturing this network of Digital Ambassadors, EJTN amplified its impact far beyond individual activities, creating a ripple effect that supports a more modern, interconnected, and resilient justice ecosystem across the EU.

Building on this momentum, EJTN also strengthened its commitment to the Rule of Law, fundamental rights, competitiveness and gender equality in justice, integrating these priorities across its activities. This was reflected through strategic planning and concrete initiatives, such as the 2025 THEMIS Competition Grand Final hosted for the first time by the Court of Justice of the European Union, which highlighted stronger partnerships and support for competitiveness in the justice sector.

Thanks to the continuous support of the European Commission, EJTN remains committed to its mission of strengthening a shared European judicial culture and contributing to a unified area of justice, while also championing the digital transformation of justice and upholding the Rule of Law.

Our wide range of activities and initiatives last year were made possible thanks to our dedicated members and partners, as well as EJTN Activity Coordinators who significantly contribute to the creation and enhancement of our training activities.
