Then apply today for this unique opportunity to gain first-hand insights into the judicial systems of your European peer. Deadline for applications is 31 October 2024 (18:00, Brussels time).

In partnership with its Member institutions, EJTN provides a wide range of exchange opportunities, offering invaluable professional development for Judges, Prosecutors, Court Staff, and Trainers across Europe.

Type of exchange  Description
General exchanges  They enable participants to experience the work of their counterparts in another country and to become acquainted with a foreign judicial system. Over 1,000 places are offered across nearly all EU Member States. Exchanges are available in various languages and formats.
Specialised exchanges  They allow participants to immerse themselves in the work of a European colleague working in the same area of law. These exchanges cover a wide range of specialisations, including family law, organised crime, labour law, asylum-refugee law, tax law, environmental law, mediation, digitalisation of justice, domestic violence, hate crime, etc.
Judicial leaders exchanges  They provide court presidents, chief prosecutors and court staff managers with tools to develop their leadership and management skills.

General information

Launched in 2005, at the initiative of the European Parliament, the Exchange Programme for Judicial Authorities allows judges, prosecutors, court staff and trainers from different EU Member States to improve their knowledge of other judicial systems through direct contact and exchange of views and experiences.

The Exchange Programme also aims at developing a common European judicial culture based on mutual trust and cooperation between judicial authorities in the European judicial area.
