On the occasion of the International Day of Women Judges observed annually on 10 March, the European Judicial Training Network will host a special Lunchtime Webinar session on 12 March titled ‘Embracing your expertise: understanding imposter syndrome and building professional confidence’. This event is organised as part of EJTN’s Women in Justice and Gender Equality project.
The impostor syndrome affects many professionals in high-responsibility positions, including within the justice systems. In demanding institutional environments characterised by visibility, decision-making, and hierarchical responsibility, persistent doubts about one’s legitimacy can coexist with a solid and recognised professional career.
This Lunchtime Webinar session offers an important opportunity for reflection and dialogue on impostor syndrome in the specific context of judicial leadership. It combines accessible scientific insight with the testimony of high-level representative of the judiciary to promote a detailed and nuanced understanding of these mechanisms.
The discussion on these issues, which may affect all judicial leaders, both men and women, will be led by two renowned speakers:
- Judge Laurence Massart, First President of the Court of Appeal of Brussels
- Laurence Elrich, systemic psychotherapist/psychoanalyst
The discussion will be moderated by Charles-Eric Clesse, Deputy Director of the Belgian Judicial Training Institute, and coordinated by Nathalie Glime from the Dutch Training and Study Centre for the Judiciary.
Join us on 12 March, from 13.00-14.00 CET!
Please note that the webinar will be organised in French only.
The webinar is open to everyone but prior registration is necessary.
