Meeting

On 27 and 28 February 2023, EJTN’s Criminal Law Sub-Working Group met in Madrid to discuss the implementation of EJTN training activities in criminal law for European judges, prosecutors and court staff. The Sub-Working Group members shared the lessons learned from the training implemented in 2022 and discussed the state of play of the 2023 activities.

Participants also exchanged views on the ongoing cooperation with the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Financial Stability, Financial Services and Capital Markets Union (DG FISMA), the European Judicial Network (EJN), the European Public Prosecutor’s Office (EPPO), the European Union Agency for Criminal Justice Cooperation (Eurojust), the European Union Agency for Law Enforcement Training (CEPOL) and the Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE).

The two working days culminated with an analysis of the conclusions of the Training Needs Assessment organised in Brussels last month and the planning of training activities in criminal law for 2024.

The meeting was kindly hosted by the Spanish Centre for Legal Studies (CEJ) and chaired by Spanish public prosecutor Pedro Pérez Enciso.
