On 29 and 30 September 2022, EJTN held a Directors Conference dedicated to the new development in education relevant to the training institutions of EJTN. It gathered the key national representatives of its members, the Judicial Training Institutions of the EU.
The Conference was organised under the umbrella of the Czech Presidency of the European Union in Prague and was chaired by the Czech Judicial Training Academy. The purpose of the gathering was to boost the training institutions members of EJTN to improve the inclusion, in training curricula, of the most recent developments in the European judicial training institutions.
Karel Dvořák, Deputy-Minister of Justice of the Czech Republic and Emmanuelle Cretin-Magand, team leader for the general criminal law and judicial training european judicial training unit at the European Commission gave heartfelt speeches about the need for lifelong training in the judiciairy.
Three experts held inspiring workshops on new digital interactive tools (Magalie Grellier-Faucampré, (Ecole National de la Magistrature), the “Learning culture scan” (Frank Cornelissen, Studiecentrum Rechtspleging, SSR) and Learning objectives and the ABCD Model (Denisa Petriláková, Czech Judicial Academy).
The Directors’ Conference provided, as usual, a valuable networking platform for its members on the highest level. It is an important step on EJTN’s way up to the next level. EJTN would like to thank all its Members, Associate Members, Observers, and the European Commission for their insights and participation in this fruitful event.
