A first-ever Compendium of Best Practices launched by the EJTN Exchange Programme

Meeting

The European Judicial Training Network has released a key publication as part of its Exchange Programme, titled ‘Compendium of Best Practices identified by Participants in an EJTN Judicial Exchange.

This publication serves as a valuable resource for judicial practitioners across EU Member States, offering a collection of insights and effective practices observed by over 1,000 judges, prosecutors and court staff during their EJTN judicial exchanges.

Resulting from an initiative of the EJTN Working Group on the Exchange Programme, this publication aims at supporting knowledge exchange by sharing innovative approaches discovered by participants. It provides evidence of best practices applicable in diverse judicial settings and showcases participants’ reflections after exploring another judicial system. By consulting this resource, justice practitioners can explore different ways to incorporate successful strategies into their own judicial environments, fostering mutual understanding as well as continued collaboration and improvement of practices across EU Member States.

The publication is divided into two essential parts: The first part consists of a detailed compendium listing the best practices identified by participants while being immersed into the daily work of their counterpart in the host country. The second part includes a research report that provides context to some of these practices, supporting their understanding and potential application in other EU Member States.
