The EJTN-ERA project on ‘Court staff and bailiffs’ training in European civil and criminal law’ successfully concluded

Meeting

EJTN is pleased to announce the successful completion of the project “Court staff and bailiffs’ training in European civil and criminal law” implemented together with the Academy of European Law (ERA) and co-funded by the European Union.

In the framework of the project, EJTN hosted four seminars with a total of 97 participants trained on European cross-border civil and criminal procedures as well as legal English language classes. Participants also discovered more about the EJTN training offer dedicated to court staff.

Under the EU’s Justice Programme 2021-2027, EJTN and ERA implemented a training project for court staff and bailiffs in partnership with the Belgian Judicial Training Institute (IGO-IFJ), the Bulgarian National Institute of Justice (NIJ), and the Romanian National School of Clerks (NSC).

The project also received the support of 13 national judicial training institutions and the European Union of Judicial Officers (UEHJ).

Building on the knowledge and experience gained from the implementation of previous court staff training projects, and following the recommendations made in the “Study on the training needs of court staff on EU law in the EU”, EJTN, ERA and the other consortium members addressed the deficiencies of court staff and bailiffs’ training by adopting a modern and practical approach to EU judicial training and by developing coherent and innovative training packages.

EJTN would like to express its appreciation for the excellent cooperation with ERA for the success of the project. While this project has come to an end, training materials, including e-tools and training packages, may still be accessed and downloaded on the project’s website.
