Upholding the rule of law in practice: The crucial role of Judges and Prosecutors 

TRAINING CONTENT AND TARGET AUDIENCE

 

PRACTICAL INFORMATION

Description: 

One-day-and-a-half training based on a ‘learn-by-doing’ methodology. Members of Judicial and Prosecutorial Councils from all EU member States plus Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Northern Macedonia, Montenegro, Kosovo will be involved in a series of practical workshops addressing the crucial role of Judges and Prosecutors in upholding the rule of law in practice, working on case scenarios inspired by real facts. The seminar will address the UN, Council of Europe and European Union standards on the Rule of Law, the relationship between Presidents of Courts and Chiefs of Prosecution Offices in the work environment and vis-à-vis other state powers. Participants will be assisted by international and national experts, from the academia as well as practitioners.

Target audience: 

Members of Judicial and Prosecutorial Councils from  all EU member States plus Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Northern Macedonia, Montenegro, Kosovo.

Application Process: 

All applications must be submitted through the candidates' national EJTN member/observer institution. Up to two participants per EJTN Member will be selected to attend the seminar.
